Payroll Specialist

 The Payroll Specialist performs a full range of Payroll activities on behalf of Clients in compliance with Company procedures and standards and in a manner  providing excellence in customer service in a friendly, courteous, and prompt manner.  Payroll Specialists work requires heavy data entry, checking source documents, running and verifying Payroll output for timely delivery to Clients including processing related reports.   Additionally, prepares Quarterly and Annual Tax Returns for Client base and works with the Team Leader in resolving inaccuracies and issues. Extensive Client contact predominantly by telephone and fax.

Qualifications

  • Two (2) to three (3) years of Payroll processing experience preferably in a Service Bureau environment
  • Basic knowledge of State and Federal employment taxes and wage and hour regulations
  • Experience in computer data entry in on-line or batch processes
  • Knowledge of standard reconciliation techniques
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills including outstanding telephone etiquette
  • Capability and willingness to provide excellence in customer service, both externally and internally
  • Strong organizational skills with a keen eye towards detail and follow up
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Applications (WORD, Outlook, EXCEL) or equivalents
  • Thrive working in a fast-past, deadline driven environment

Essential Requirements

  • Ability to read, write and speak English at an appropriate business level
  • Ability to use a 10-key calculator
  • Familiarity with basic mathematical calculations used in Payroll
  • Ability to hear the spoken word
  • Sufficient visual acuity to read various paper documents and information on computer screens
  • Ability to use a computer for complex data entry
  • Ability to sit, stand, bend and reach for at least eight (8) hours per day
  • Ability to lift one (1) to ten (10) pounds frequently

Regular FT position in Las Vegas, NV.  Salary $13 and hour+ DOE with comprehensive benefits package to include a 401(1) plan with match, career development, paid time off and a casual work environment.
