I serve as a community partner to the Shaw Community Center in downtown Charleston. I create and work events sponsored by the center. I also work closely with the Director, Karen Williams to gain more funding for the center and better media representation. I’m also working on the center’s social media presence.

I graduated in May from the College of Charleston. In my time there, I have taken several Communication courses in media and public relations, strategic market planning, advanced level writing courses and intrapersonal and interpersonal communication. I also took Micro- and Macroeconomics to prepare myself for the business world. I have also been deemed fluent in Spanish from classes taken at the College of Charleston.

I received my Associates of Arts degree with a concentration in Communication and Journalism. In doing such, I received two scholarships and spent three semesters on the Dean’s List. I took courses in Communication/Public Speaking, Keyboarding, Calculus, Logic, Economics, Biology, Journalism, and I am conversationally fluent in Spanish.

I graduated eighteenth in my class of one-hundred fifty-six and received the Journalism Award. While in high school, I was a member of the National Beta Club, The Buzz Club (a committee of people who put together the school newsletter), and served as the Editor of The Monument, which is the school’s yearbook. I was also a member of the Student Council as an officer for three years.
